Grading For P.E. Class
Students receive both a conduct grade and a physical education grade.
These are the criteria by which their grade is earned:
a) Skill development- progressive development towards a given skill
or movement concept.
b) Social skills- to include, but not limited to, respect for others,
sportsmanship, safe behavior, proper use of equipment, active listening,
and following directions.
c) Participation- students on task at least 85% of the time during class.
A dated, written excuse from a parent or guardian is requested to excuse
the child from participation in one or two classes. A doctor's excuse
is required for an illness or injury lasting longer than one week. A
note following an absence is recommended to alert the instructor of the
student's condition.
