About Coach Laura Thompson

Coach Laura Thompson has been at Crabapple Lane Elementary School since it opened and has taught in Fayette County for 14 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in P.E. from Illinois State University , a Masters in P.E. from State University of West Georgia, and a specialist degree in Education Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee . She is married to former professional golfer Dicky Thompson and has a son, Ryan and a daughter, Sara. When she is not teaching or taking care of her family she loves to read and watch NASCAR events.           

She is the cosponsor of running club, school sports stacking team and the coach of “Hearts in Motion”, Crabapples Jump Rope Team. She is trained CERT member (Community Emergency Response Team) and a volunteer at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
